Post Air meter tech FYI

Thought maybe some people might be interested in what I've been doing, and the results. My goal is to hit 400+HP without NOS.
I had the airaid kit, gave a nice gain, then when I got my SHM MAF, completely open air with no box, My L had all the flow it needed.
The only thing I've had to do was send my chip and meter back in for recalibration cause the air meter was exceeding 5v causeing me to lean out, hence detonation. This was only after changing to 4.10, and the exhaust upgrade with the smaller blower pulley.
I'm still trying to find the perfect remedy for this, tried voltage clamps (very crude), but the only thing that worked was sending everything back to SHM and getting recalibrated air meter and the chip tuned for the injectors.
For the guys getting the R9 from superchips, if you got the Pro-M (ProFlow) and any exhaust upgrade, make sure that you tell them the upgrades done, don't just order, will save you time in the long run.
For you guys considering the MAF upgrade (Pro-M), If you've upgraded the exhaust, you may have to get the air meter recalibrated, or get a voltage clamp to keep you from running lean, depends on how the increased flow affects the meter.
I know my case is special, because i got the smaller blower pulley as well. With the rest of my upgrades and the pulley, it didn't take long for the meter to develop the habit of exceeding 5v and leaning out due to the increased air flow.
So far from my experience, it's the specific MAF, chip, pulley, and exhaust combo's that caused the air meter to exceed 5v, so if you haven't changed all the above, you may not ever experience any problems.

I haven't done a dyno since I installed the chip and maf, since then, I've installed the smaller blower pulley, new intercooler reservoir, a custom exhaust with dynomax mufflers, and the chip and maf recalibrated to the modifications. I'd be guessing I'm now running in the 390's HP range.
I've changed the throttle body, I didn't get no gain at all. Also have had a new set of larger injectors, fuel rails, and new Weldon fuel pump, but removed them cause of the tuning hassle and other problems.
I haven't changed the fan cause I was at a dyno with an L and they removed the mechanical fan and ran with no fan, with no power increase.
The challenge continues.

Cheers

Moses, because you were there when the L was run w/o a fan I wouldnt question the results, I would question other varibles that may have infulenced the results though. I am assuming your talking about the radiator fan. It's highly unlikely that running without a fan,(as long as the coolant temps are within range) you wouldn't see HP gains. One dyno run doesnt make me belive that you cant get some HP from improving the fan/clutching ect... On our Dodge Cummings we saw an improvement of 20+hp at a much lower rpm than the L runs at with a true clutched fan. Also the engine noise was cut by 1/2 in my estimatation.
