Ran a c-5 tonight
Heading home on Telephone tonight, saw a C-5 ahead of me. Pulled up at light behind him (other lanes occupied), his exhaust was obviously not stock. Light changed, we both took off, I couldn't gain on him but he couldn't increase gap. Next light got side by side, light changed, he hooked up better (think street was still moist from this afternoon's rain), got a 1/4 car length on me, stayed there til about 100. Next light he definitely had the dryer lane, got a couple feet on me, but couldn't pull any further ahead. Next light we chatted, he said his 'vette was not stock, had chip, intake, and exhaust. Said he couldn't believe my truck could keep up with his 'vette, said I was the first vehicle that could ever give him a race.
He said "that is one bad truck, dude." We gave each other thumbs up and split. I think if the road conditions had been better the results might have been different. The vehicles were dead even, his just hooked a little better.

And let's give credit to SVT where credit is due. Not much mention here of the L on corners, but....allow me.
Freeway on ramp, climbing right hand sweeper. Wife next to me, late model Z28 with exhaust mods and who knows what else just in front. The guy hits the corner fast and well, I just couldn't resist the inquisitive side that said "mmmmm...".
I was so impressed with how well it cornered (I had to toe the brakes to keep from upsetting him). Well, needless to say, the real fun began when the ramp straightened out. I blew into the fast lane and by him so fast that he actually started to look in his rear view mirror for me as I was passing on the left. Had to wave when I saw that.
