Post Anyone have a reg 5.4 in a supercab?

I am looking at a new 2000 supercab with a 5.4 engine. I am wondering if they compare to chevy's 5.3 for performance. The one I drove seemed slower than the new chevy 5.3. It sure is a sharp looking truck though with the flareside box in black. thanks for any info you guys can give me.

Cool

i have a 99 ext cab off road with 5.4 and can tell you ford has more power at the rear wheels than chevy,or dodge 360 magnum, but can't remember what magazine did the test. in any case they all feel like dogs, after driving an L,even an r/t would. later

I also got a 2001 Supercrew with the 5.4
It seems to have plenty of zip for a heavy truck. I put a K&N filter on it and it seemed to make a diff.

I have 2, one with 8ft bed, i with custom aluminum flatbed, both 2000 model. much more torque than the 4.6 v-8's they replaced. the chevy i drove was a nice truck, but the power band was at a higher rpm, and not down low where i need it for the very heavy loads we carry
