Post Calling...PBGas..WHAT04

Hi Guys. I was wondering if either of you would be interested in going to Cayuga next Friday night(29th)? Me and some friends will be going. This will be my first time at the track so I don't know what to expect, but I would love to see another L or 2 there. One of my friends wants to beat me so bad in his hoped up NOS'd Civic. Last week he even ran a 15.3 Also another buddy will be bringing his Dakota 5.9R/T and another will be there in his 99 Camero SS. Let me know if you can make it.

Let me guess. You only come out when it's about to snow. Where have you been all summer?

I'm trying to make it down to Cayuga on Wednesday Sept. 27th. Fridays are not great for me. We'll see how the weather goes.

Been there three times this year and had a blast. No other L's around though. Got a bag of chips to test.

Maybe we'll meet up. PBGas and I have hooked up for filter kit exchanges and the like. There are many more L's lurking but no one wants to come out to play.

Cheers!!

What4,

Good time slip. Who and/or what was in the Right lane, a driver completely asleep in a Dakota R/T?

I bet you were picking up you time sheet abou the time he made it through the traps....

Hey SpeedinBob,

Glad you asked. It was kind of funny. It was a big, black ram, lowered, black rims, tint, you name it, it was black.

When we got the green, I nailed it (which as you can see, I wasn't going to win any bracket race with my reaction time) and I thought he broke. It was just like a Top Fuel race where one car goes and the other stands still. I really pulled that much quicker out of the beams.

By the finish line, with over four seconds lead, it seems really weird, cause it takes so long for them to finish.

Anyhow, you all know how this finished up don't you. On the return road, who should be doing the "I'm going to tailgate you all the way back to the pits with my high beams on" routine, but "Mr. Ram". I guess if you can't get 'em with your power, get 'em with your lights. JERK!

Sorry guys....

I would love to go but I am getting married the next day (Sept.30th) and I don't think the future Mrs. G. would appreciate it if I did that!

Just haven't had a lot of time lately for anything!

Thx for the invite, I appreciate it. We should all try and hook up sometime again.

Paul G.

WHAT04,
You call what we just had a summer ? Rain every third day, or pretty close. Anyway I have been real busy with work and looking for a place to live. I finally got done all the chores with moving and getting caught up on the board(going over all the posts took an eternity). I had some major computer problems which kept me away for a while before I moved as well. I know excuses, excuses Anyway I may be able to show up on the 27th as well. As I have never done this before, I'd love to get some practice in before I go with my buddies. What time are you planning to be there ? Will I need a helmet ? Anything else I need/need to know ?

PBGas,
Congrats man ! Please don't tell us you are going to trade the L in for a Minivan Marrage and Minivans seem to go hand in hand with crowd I hang out with. Anyway, if you want to just hook up sometime and meet, there is an old car show hosted by the Back Alley Crusers in a strip mall parking lot at Weston & 7 (SW corner) every Monday night that starts around 7:00-8:00. Lots of REAL sweet vintage muscle cars here. Let me know.

SnowPlow,

Cayuga opens at 7:00 pm. Registration takes about 5 minutes and then if the Tech inspector has time he'll walk you through staging etc.

Long pants and full shoes (no sandals) are required. Helmet required for 13.99 or faster. With your chip you'll already be there. That's it. $20.00 all you can eat.

By the way, as of the last time I went, Cayuga does not have a gas station. They are rebuilding. It's a Pioneer with 93 octane but I wouldn't count on it being open. So fuel is a bit of a concern. Minimum half tank required. 5 passes burns about 1/4 tank and then at least 50 km to a gas station.

My plan is definitely for the 27th weather permitting. I'll keep you posted.

Hope we can hook up.

That, my friend, is the cheapest excuse I've heard in a long time. Friday night before a wedding is definitely a guys night out. I couldn't think of a more appropriate thing to do than hurl yourself down a dragstrip at 100+ mph. Would certainly clear your mind for the upcoming day.

Oh well. Some other time. Ha!! Like that will ever happen now. Next it will be thank you cards, then parental visits, then kids, then meet the teacher night, oh I forgot - goaltending, then grad night. At which point you go get another performance vehicle and think about drag racing. Whoops! Getting a little ahead of myself. Then college for the kids.

Finally you'll be like Noelvm. Having fun again at 56.

Don't wait that long man. Drag race on the 29th. Or how about the 27th? Feeling any pressure yet? Come on, come on. Get it out of your system. Tell her you can't possibly concentrate on your wedding night without a 1/4 mile blast or two.
