what's going on out there???

man these forums are dead lately. i guess since it the season, everybody is busy. personaly i'm layed off until march. so i'm home with my three kids and i guess i happen to have some spare time, well not really, they keep me busy.
anyhow what's everybodies latest project. i have been spoiling the truck lately. i just put in my aem w.b., a set of granatelli cop's w/ a set of denso it22's, lfp idler pullies(3), blacked out my lights for the second time, and a pair of yellow fog light bulbs.

my next project will be lightening my 87' lx (removing carpet insulation, sound deadening material, and a lightweight kirkey racing seat.) after that an engine swap in my bro's lx conv.(4cyl. to 8cyl.) and finally get my pop's 69' superbee running.

just wondering.....happy holiday's :santa:

Hopefully I will be installing my Aluminum Motor just after Christmas.
And a few other things including QA1,s all round and some fuel pump control modfications.

Finish work on Friday 22nd about 14:00hrs and thats it untill the first full week in 2007.

Will just be on standby for a few special clients over the holiday.

So if the shippers get their finger out I won't be confined to painting and too much DIY work around the house.
The misses already has a list of Jobs a long as her arm

Plus get out with the boys to a few games of Rugby, hopefully wins for my team too, good excuse for a few beers

Have a good Christmas & New Year.

I am finally in full swing to complete my drop. I mocked up the spindles last night and test fit the calipers that I had to grind some of the spindle to make it fit. Since I had to ruin the powder coating, I took it all apart again and dropped the spindles off at the powder coater to get some sonic blue powder on them. Last night I removed my hard bed cover, torneau, disconnected the wiring harness, and unbolted the gas filler tube. Loosened up the bed bolts and tonight I have some buddies coming over to help me remove the bed. Then I start grinding out the stock hangers and replace them, also upgrading the pumps since the bed is off.
I was going to strip my frame rails in the rear but last night under the truck I looked at everything. My frame is in almost perfect condition and is 99.9% rust free except for one little scrap from a jack. So I am going to hold off on that, probably a spring project. Hope to have the bed back on the truck by Wednesday.
And I hope to finish my nitrous install the I started at the beginning of LAST winter and never finished.

Ya I'm laid off till march too. (Gotta love asphalt paving) Actually, I put my hardcore construction hours in the blistering heat with the fuming hot asphalt so I deserve a few months off a year to re-coop, lol.

I here ya man!! I spent 10 years building natural gas pipelines. Always up north in the winter and down south in the summer. I quit that 7 yrs ago and I am now a barber. I love the climate control

well that's pretty funny, because i'm layed off for the same reason. i work at vanbro in staten island. do you do the paving or do you work at a plant? you are right though, all the relentless hours are done during the summer. 12,14hr days get old, so yeah a bit of a break is nice. you just have to make sure you put the money away. new york unemployment is a joke(405. a week) in comparison to what i bring home a week.
enjoy it while it lasts!!

Girl, I still can't believe you are still on getting rid of the L. Would you keep it if you had not have had the accident and what do you have those eyes set on now?

I do the actual paving work. Ya I know to put money away for the winter, lol, I've been paving since I was 15 and I'm 29 now, hehe. One bad winter of careless spending was enough to teach me so now going into the winter I have all my bills paid till spring plus money put away (just for my truck alone I have the money put away to pay the payments all the way till next august of 2007.)

And if SlowSVT is getting rid of her L just because of an accident, well I slammed my 03 right through a telephone pole and I was back in another L in four days flat. Funny, I could of got a brand new Harley Edition for cheaper a month then a used L too, lol!

I'm not getting rid of it because of the accident... the truck got a new frame, it's fixed now. I need to sell it because I can't afford to drive it everyday anymore... and I want something that I don't have to spend so much time and money at the gas station with. Don't get me wrong, I love the L and I don't want to get rid of it but it's something I have to do. My neighbors hate the truck... it's already been keyed, I had 2 tires slashed already, soda spilled on it, you name it. I'm sure they're especially thrilled when I'm leaving in the middle of the night for a fire call and waking them up because my truck is so damn loud. It's just time to move on.
