you guys do realize that the plugs that sal recomends for replacement, the 12e's are also platinum. i am currently talking with tourqemaster about getting me hooked up with a set of plugs,as i see no other guinea pigs out there,i'll give it a shot.the cost of these plugs is 14.something a piece, not 12.something as posted on another board.if they get me a set to my door by friday,i will try them out at the track friday night and post results.i am hoping this plug will work with or without nitrous, because if long tube headers, ram air.or anything else that comes out soon will get me 12s in hot weather, then i am skipping the nitrous.later

uhhhhh, all the L's are originally equipped with platinum plugs from the factory. Sal recommended the 12E's because he had a problem with the others. If you look in our manuals(supplement), they actually list 2 different plug #'s.
I personally have switched over to the NGK racing plug. Platinum plugs are NO GOOD for blower motors. I lost the miss that I was experiencing, not to mention the truck just runs smoother
I paid under 2 bucks a piece for the NGK's. Ohhh, they will work with and without NO2
IMO

Hey Spiro,
Got a number on those plugs. I've been getting a miss and it is continually getting worse. I thought it might be the R9 chip I put in, but that has not been confirmed.
Also saw where it may be the coils.

reality 1 no coils, just plugs that cost more because of the coil on plug. spiro i know they come with platinum plugs thats why i said,[are platinum plugs also]. i have heard no one post of running the colder ngk, that isn't running nos,or planning to. i have no misfire issues ect,and i am looking for more performance from this plug change, with or without nitrous.ie more fire.later

Reality1,
What's up buddy? So far so good, no more problems. As for having the plugs down to a science....It takes me about 2 hrs LOL I think HIGHRISK has it to a science, about an hour
LOL
TIM,
The correct part # for the plugs are #4177 TR-6. I have been using the R5671A-7's for a few weeks without any problems. These are not a tapered plug as the stock ones are they just have a washer which makes a tight seal. I will however be switching to the TR-6's very soon. You could thank HIGHRISK and BABOLT for the correct part #. Hope this helps

I tried to get a set of 12E plugs today (mine has the 12FM1 plugs in it.) was told that motorcraft is not making this plug anymore.talked to a few dealers and one did call the motorcraft dist. and told him no more 12E plugs only 12FM1. so I guess you can only get them if dealers have some left in inventory. anybody else making a plug for the lightning besides the ones discussed in these previous posts. thanks. 95rcobra.
I have the Bosch +Plus 4's in mine and it runs fine. I had problems with the factory plugs so i got these and had the dealer install them.
