I was just reading Blue Oval News about transmission failures of the 4R100 trans. The article states that 50,000 tansmissions are affected including the Lightning.

Has anyone had this problem with their Lightning trans????

I believe this "cost saving" part was only put in trannys destined for the 2001 Lightning and all should be repaired before they hit the street.
