Doesn't sound like a battery problem. Might want to check to see if you a some sort or parasitic current draw when you truck is off (alarm, stereo, bad factory relay, cruise control switch). If I leave my radar detector plugged in my battery will be low within 4 days.

Stock motorcraft from 99, 7 years and counting! I have never had to jump it or charge it. No maintenance besides just cleaning the posts+cables! The optima's construction is definitely neat but hey there are alot of negative posts about them too!

the kinetiks are ezay to charge with low ESR
if your altornator is bizey chareging your batt that means your igntion is paying the pice a bad spark means boooom to the motor

Friend, any battery can go bad. It doesnt matter if its an interstate or an optima. If it sits long enough, it will go bad.

I currently have a motorcraft battery in the L, however when it dies I plan to upgrade it with a red top.

Exclamation What I had luck with...

Interstate and anything made by Johnson Controls, which now is back supplying Sears Diehards been fine. Had trouble mainly with Chrysler OEM batteries (3 in a row that didn't last 3 years) and Excide. Have one red top in a jeep, seems ok so far.

I was going to buy an Optima Yellow top from Sam's Club but it only has a 1 yr. free swap + 1 yr pro-rated, so I went for the Red top with 3yr + 3yr since I use a stock sound system.
