Thumbs down Mobil 1 oil filter problems..........

I usually run Motorcraft oil filters but didn't want to drive 20 miles to get one so I got a Mobil 1 filter ($10 at that) and changed my oil. I use Mobil 1 5W30.

After the oil change, when I started it cold, it makes a knocking niose for a brief second. This went on for about a week then I changed back to a motorcraft filter 2 days ago and now it doesn't knock on start up. I think the Mobil 1 filter doesn't have the anti-back flow valve installed in it or it doesn't work to prevent the oil from draining out of the system when its not running.

I had this problem with the Mobil 1 filter I tried in My SHO. I changed back to the prior brand and never had the problem. It really worried me. These Mobil 1 filters are supposed to be about the best going.

i have used the mobile one filter on several vehicles but never had that problem. i finally convinced myself that a regular motorcraft filter is just fine-been doing a good job for many years.
