Wink Calling High Risk-- Blower Photos

Bob
Here is a photo of the inside of your supercharger from last night after the Drags.
Just in case others take a look. All of that nastiness on the rotors is the teflon flaking off. Where does it go? Onto your intercooler to help block the air flow and rob you of some of your performance.

Thanks for the pics BABolt, I wonder if they replace the whole engine because of the teflon? I know they were going to replace the intercooler on one of the fellow F150onliner's Lightning, but when they took off the supercharger, they came across sludge, and decided to replace the whole enigne. Who was this? My memeory is starting to fade at this young age of 22. Thanks again.

Zing.com is down for maintenance...

Tundra: You're really only 22? Or are you messin' with us... I would have guessed much older (take that as a compliment). Anyway, sludge-guy is here: https://www.f150online.com/f150board...ML/004908.html

BA,
another thing to think about. How long to pull and clean intercooler?

I'll find out what is used to coat turbine blades.

Cool

Would that not be the ****S if I told you it was caused by running a CHIP and a Conical Filter.
That would be pure HOG WASH. There are people who are having the teflon coating come off their impellers and the thoughts of running nitrous has not crossed their minds. My thoughts on it are in the quality of the coating but I have no data to back this up. When you scrape (finger nail) at the impellers of a faulty unit it chips like old dried out paint. I could not believe that it was a teflon coating ( I was told that). When I put my supercharger back together I don't want any of that stuff on my impellers.

PS. Just so that everyone understands. This is not a nitrous related issue because it is also happening on not nitrous superchargers. I don't have the answer just a lot of questions and ???????

Teflon comes in a number of compositions. When I worked at a Turbine repair shop we used a paint on teflon coating that we baked on. You wouldnt want the paint on stuff we used on anything that spun as fast and got as hot as the vanes
