In Need Of Help, Need Stock Pulleys

I purchased my 2000 Lightning six months ago used and it has been non-stop problems from pretty much day one. I need the stock lower crank and upper supercharger pulleys, I would prefer from the same year. I'd be willing to pay a fair price, as I have looked around but have been unable to find any.

Backstory:

The newest problem with the truck was that under any boost it would buck very badly and not accelerate. I took it to the dealer and they told me that the previous owner had installed both aftermarket lower and upper pulleys. I have no idea what brand though. Also, he had installed a chip but for whatever reason took it back out and left the pulleys on.

As a result the truck is running like garbage and I'll have to pay out of pocket to try and fix it. The dealer told me that just the lower crank would be $565 with a belt and about $700 installed. Then he tells me that he cannot get me a stock upper because Ford only sells them with a brand new supercharger. That would run me $4,000, which is out of the question.

Would I be able to have them measure the aftermarket pulleys that are on there now to be able to find out the size? And then get a tuner to actually properly tune the truck. Would that even be possible?

I need help in locating stock pulleys. Anyone that can help please respond here or email me at gp537@yahoo.com . Thanks for any help and sorry for the long post.

Why not take it to a tuner, and have them look at it.

JDM is in Freehold, NJ. Not sure how far away you are from them, but I'm sure they can get your truck right. JLP is in PA. & PSP is in N.Y. Some of the greatest Lightning tuners right in your neck of woods.

If you still want a stock lower I have one. PM me.

You are about 25 miles from Freehold - spend your money wisely and take it to a reputable tuner.

You will enjoy the added power and not waste your time locating stock pullies....

Once you get rid of the gremlins, you will love the ride !!!

Your first mistake was taking it to a dealer! Sounds like all you need is a tune. I would not hammer on it ill you get one or you could really be spending $$$.

Listen. This is what you MUST DO!!!! Take your truck to JDM engineering. This is their business. They can fix ANY problem even if it seems like a huge malfunction to you,They will have the truck running INCREDIBLE in an hour or so.Not only will your truck run like new again, You will benefit from awsome power and reliabilty. www.teamjdm.com Im my opinion it could very well NOT be just the pullys.Dont trust your dealer, they only know what the computer screen tells them.JDM can and has built these trucks from scratch in hours.......To me its should be your ONLY choice since you live right there!!! Take my advise or you willl be chasing problems and parts until you sell your truck or blow it up. Just trying to help.

pulley's

SicSvt pull off your vaccum hoses to the plenum and check for antifreeze to find out if you have a leaking innercoller which will surely make it buck or your plug boots are more than likely bad because of the year, they more than likely have not been changed, both which will make it buck like mad, and also could just be a couple of coils. check it out and let us know. good luck Gary
