Question Help with clunking noise

Just as the title says. I have a clunking noise from the front end that occurs when either I step on the brakes or when i take off from a light. This is the only times that I can recall this happening. Does anyone have any ideas or what I should look for to see what could be loose? Oh and I have the clunk washers so rule that out.

Thanks
Damon

You got something under the seat or in the glove box that's rolling around?

I would get your front suspension checked out.
Get someone to rock the truck up and down and listen for noise.

Have them listen while to put the truck in gear and drive with brakes hard on, alternate between forward and reverse and get them to listen to see which side the noise is coming from.

Get it up on some axle stands and check all the joints and bushes for excessive play.
You may have a coil spring damaged or something lodged in their like road debris.

Check the obvious things like loose wheel nuts and fixings.

Sorry this appears to be the idiots guide to fault finding your problem
but it may be a start.

Just a guess without looking. My guess is the Ball Joints (Lower one) VERY TYPICAL

I ordered Moog replacements. Much better than the stockers.

MOOG part#K8695T Price$28.89/ea. I ordered mine from rockauto.com

U-Joints in the driveshaft?
I have also had a caliper come loose on my Excursion before, made a similar noise as it was rocking on the bolts.

I too would check ball joints and caliper mounts in front, as well as all nuts and bolts up front.
