Question PRICING ON 2001 LIGHTNING

I was wondering how much the 2001 LIGHTNING is going to cost. I went to a ford dealer and they said they didnt know . They are not taking orders yet either , but they got 3 2000 in their lot . They said they would make me a deal if I bought a 2000. I dont know if I should wait for the 01 or should I just get a 00.BY the wy what is the price for a 2000 lightning fully loaded

It has been rumored to be around $32,000. It comes with 380 hp, 450 ft. lbs of torque, and 3.73 gears. Current Lightnings have 360, 440, and 3.55 respectively. Don't forget about the cosmetic stuff they did to it.

Go ahead and get the 2000 and save your $$$$. Looks better and will run just as good as the 2001's if you add an MAF and chip. Plus you won't spend the next 5-6 months waiting.

I decided to wait for a 2001. My dealer took my order. I am first on the list, with a $200 deposit. I will pay whatever MSRP is. I decided to wait because I wanted the 3.73 gears that 2001's are rumoured to have. They are also rumoured to have a fix to the intercooler problem and a chip giving improved shift characteristics, and the HP and TQ increases. If I were you, I would negotiate on price on the 2000 and price out the cost of making the above changes and see what makes more sense for you. This depends of course on whether you are interested in the 2001 upgrades. How the 2001's will run is TBD.
