Post Front End Clunk Update

When leaving a message for SVT reps at a dealer, based on my experience today, it is not wise to leave subject matter as a reason for him/her to return your call. I made the mistake of saying I wanted to talk to him about an update on the so-called tsb for the front end. So after hours of waiting, I went over in person and although I got to talk to him, the results are still the same. The check is in the mail BS is all the info I got. Same thing I got 6 weeks ago from him and I believe I remember another post from someone who said they were told three weeks. Well both of those time tables have come and gone and still nothing.

I guess they think the problem will go away if they wait long enough. I will go away until all my tires have had their turn on the front left and or just before my warranty expires, and then I will turn it over to my lawyer. He loves these kind of cases.

I asked one of the SVT engineers at a recent SVT ontrack event. He dutifully took down my name and phone number and promised to gave someone call me.

Nobody called. Of course, I never really expected them to.

Better look at the direction arrows on the right side tires before you go rotating them to the left side.

Just got back from the dealership to get the "clunk" fixed. They did the new TSB update on it and it took them 2 days. No more clunk, works for me. Maybe you guys need to go down to the dealership and rip some a$$?

Sam,

What does the TSB state to do to fix this darn mess? Mine A-arm bolt was torqued down real good by Cooter and Gomer with no star washer, I lubed the steering stops, no more clunkage.

I'd like to do urethane bushings but nothing's available yet.

I was gonna ask on of the engineers too. Untill the "engineer" was riding with me in the SVT contour, and I realised that I had socks older than him and he didnt know **** about the Contour or driving....

I did get to beat on a contour a bit though... That was fun, as he stuttered uh , sir, uh someone might be coming the other way, uh , do you have to go that fast?? Uh your not supposed to take these cars on the street.... "Dont worry" I said "I have my drivers license, do you ?
