Post Electric cooling fans

Hello all..

Has anyone replaced the mechanical cooling fan for an electric setup? I know PSP and SHM were supposed to be comming out with something soon.. Just wondered if anyone has beat them to it.

Big Poppa,
Unfortunetly I have not heard a word from PSP on any new products, I plan on installing an 18 inch electric fan before the next gathereing. This is also good for dropping some weight.... Just be sure to use the stock shroud. Hope this helps

I've had them on since last fall. No problems at all even in summer heat with A/C running. Flex-a-lite dual 12" PN FLX-210 $199.95 in the Summit catalog. You can then ditch the factory shroud. Unless you would like to keep the extra weight.

Ordered a fan kit that fits inside the stock shrowd and comes with all the goodies.2800cfm@20 amps.I like the stealth look.

High Risk,
How much does the stock shrowd weigh? How much HP did it free up on your truck?

Not sure on exact number of HP but the stock fan is a pretty heavy piece. I don't think I've ever seen a fast drag car without electric fans. Don't know how much the shroad weighs either but any weight is no good. There is no part lighter then a part that isn't there

Zor,
The install is pretty easy. The top an bottom of the radiator have a piece of track with holes in it. Use the plastic brackets that come with the fans to mount them. I've seen people have problems with those zip tie things that come with the kit. I had to double clamp the top rad. hose where the temp sensor goes in but besides that it is pretty straight forward.

Good Luck,
