Cool R9 Surerchip

I just installed the new R9 superchip. Man I can tell the difference. The L lay rubber when it shift from second to third. It also pulls better in first gear.I can't wait to try the quarter mile again.

Hey alwhit27,

How do you like your Edelbrock muffler? I'm thinking of getting the same one. Is it much lowder than the stock one. Little lowder? Lot Lowder?

Did you lay rubber from 1st - 2nd before installing the chip? I have never even gotten much more than a tire chirp out of my L, even with the R7 chip installed, and I've got about 2K miles on it now. I'm starting to wonder if I've gotten a "weak" engine or something...

Wink

LHound,

I wouldnt worry about it too much. My 2000L dynos at 342rwhp 417rwtq is stock and I have never gotten a 1-2 scratch when going from a stand still. I have chirped them on a downshift to second after already cruising. Hope that helps ease your mind. I have a R9 on the way maybe that will help me burn some money um I mean rubber!

Sam

It's the Superchip that he's talking about in his post.

What he's referring to is our latest program for the Lightning, and is for both the 1999 & the 2000 Lightning, the R9 program is the latest for either one, just so you'll know.

Cool

I to just got done installing the R9 superchip. It is like a new truck.Lays rubber first then when it shifs to second chirps very nicely .It would not do this with out the chip.Only drove it 13 miles but it is like night and day.Rides great at normal speeds .I'm glad I did it.

Cool

Red racer the 5512 Eldebrock muffer is fairly quite, but has a good tone, but at WOT it is quite loud. I was told it flow 40% better than stock. With the muffler and Downs Air System it dyno at 337rwhp .410# of torque I will dyno in Oct with the R9 superchip and tell you the results.

Thanks ! Always good to hear some real world info rather than hype. Sounds exactly what I'm looking for. Just sent my R7 Superchip in for a free upgrade to the R9 program. Can't wait to try it out !
