Pacesetter Header Install
Pacesetter, Armor-Coat, (Ceramic)(Jet Hot type coating) headers from JC Whitney for less than 250 bucks. Finish was good and they fit very well, no clearance problems..
Just finished the install this weekend. To assist anyone else who is going to do this, I have several recommendations....
1. Do a search and read all other header installs on this site.
2. Follow everyone's instructions on..
a. Use a rack
b. Remove Tires/Inner fender skirts.
c. Have a good, patient friend assist you.
d. Leave the 4 front studs in your heads. ( Eases in installation)
e. Use the stock gaskets.
3. Remove starter by removing the three retention bolts.
4. DON'T overtighten the bolts into the head.
5. Expect to get really dirty from the c**p that is on the frame.
6. If you take your time, 6 hrs to 7 hrs should give you enough time.
7. It takes the most time removing and installing a few of the bolts into the back cylinders. Here are just a couple hints.
Put the difficult to reach bolts in the respective holes as the header is raised into position. Replace the sensor base on the drivers side before installing the header into the engine compartment.
.......and the # 1 piece of advice I have is..... spend the 200-250 it cost to have someone else do the install!!
But if you are like me, be patient and it isnt that bad. Just thought this info would help. Good Luck
