Any Ideas? (moving with lightning)

Hey yall. so in about a week and a half I will be moving back to texas from Virginia. I have a small apartment-sized load to take back home (couch, desk, entertainment center (small), etc.) I'm trying to figure out logistically how to get all my stuff back to texas.

one option is to rent a Uhaul--but I'm afraid of the toll that kind of loading will have on the L especially for that kind of distance!

anyone have any other ideas? I tried budget's car carrier, but the lightning exceeds the weight restriction.

Buy/Rent a small trailer to pull behind your L.

I think your L would pull a trailer just fine. Keep it out of overdrive, and use 93 octane (I use Sunoco Ultra 94 always).

I would make sure that I got a double-axle trailer, even if it is more than you need. It will be more stable at speeds, and if you have a tire go down on the trailer, you can maintain control of it and should be able to make it to the next exit.

I hear Budget has a special going on thier trucks right now. Budget truck and U-Haul Car trailer , heavy duty two axle should take care of your problems.

Your Lightning will tow a trailer with ease. You can run OD on flat stretces of highway, but leave it off in town and in hilly areas.

A trailer is no problem, if its shifting in and out of OD, just turn it off.
