Exclamation 70s Built Chevelle, 00 WS6, and an Extreme runs a red light (no camera)

[any correlation to real events are coincidental]

Hey fellows,

I lost the camera (temporarily), so no videos, my apologies (sp?). And I didn't get to race the SS.

Well, we went to the strip anyways. But first, we go eat, and get some gas. I had to fill up my tank if I wanted to get my $58 in change.

We do some laps, and I see a nice new black T/A. Throw a rev. See him down parked, and go see if he want to run, after he tells me its a 00 WS6.

We head to our local race track and sure enough, a nice golden 70s chevelle takes his lane. The light is green, but the crowd is there to watch the race (really). We stop, and my co-pilot raises his hand outside the window, and drops it. I nail it, thinking I am gonna get walked by this thing. He's just sitting there spinning his tires. We line up again, he says (what I heard) he spun through 1st & 2nd, then missed 3rd. Damn, I think, he deserves another run. So we run again, and same thing, but not quite so bad. The 00 WS6 is in hot persuit and follows me into the uturn lane.

Famous last words: "Damn, you got me worried now"

Once again, my friend does the arm drop, and we race neck and neck, classic text book battle through 2nd. He would inch ahead, then I would, then him, then I. His front bumper was at my front tire when he shut down. We flew past a govt. official of some sort and decided to go our seperate ways. I have yet to meet up with this fellow. I want another match-up, as this was too close to call.

Then, we get back to the strip. There is this clean S10 exteme. He sees me ignoring him. Then does a nice burnout, trying to stare me down. I have nothing to prove. Then he asks if I think I can beat him in a race. I tell him there's absolutly no question about it. Then he says he's got a chip and it makes 450 hp! I start to laugh, and gladly offer my three sandbags as I do not want to hear any "I didn't have traction BS." He was getting red in the face, and I was pointing at the light. Then he does what I figured he would do. The opposite light changes, and he begins to do a burnout all across the intersection, and when he gets across, our light finally changes. Class Act. I really wanted to race him, too. After that, we call it a night. There was, however, no question that this S10 was modified.

Later on, my friend lines up with this guy and he wants nothing to do with his 00 Integra Type R. He went a best of 14.42 last weekend.

I hope you guys enjoyed reading this, sorry for it being so long.
