Talking PROBLEM WITH MY NEW STEREO

Can't here my radar detector. Can't hear my cell phone. Can't hear the engine. What did you say?????

Pioneer 50Wt ch 4 ch amp. Bose 301 series IV bookshelf speakers. Removed the plastic worthless tool box (3 nuts) and CD changer (4 nuts). Removed end brackets from CD changer (6 screws). Relocated CD changer under center of front seat facing forward so it is now easy to change disc paks. Vecroed changer to carpet otherwise you need to remove seat to attach L brackets to floor. Velcro works fine. Dark side of the Moon and Little Richard never sounded so good.

noelvm - Nice looking rig. Dark side of the Moon, I'd forgotten about that one. Need to put it in the changer.

Enjoy your tunes!

Dark Side of the Moon! I heard that for the first time, when I was a kid, driving across country with my brother. Perfect for road trips. That's a great setup you have. You might have to add a little "Comfortably Numb" from their other CD.

Noel

Very interesting. Changing the CD, good idea. I'm going to do it. Would love the convenience of being able to change the discs at full WOT.

One question. Velcro, how big of a strip to hold the CD down? opps, two questions. How did you attach the one to the carpet or???? Tell me what you did.

Jim

If you use agressive Velcro the hook part will grab carpet just fine......

After all Velcro I just hooks and loops the loops in this case are the carpet.

I just stuck some of the adhesive backed velcro hook that I got at Kmart on the bottom of the changer. It holds well enough but if you got the extended length velcro like mentioned above it would be better.

The changer cord is routed down the pass door side so just remove the step plate and then route it over to where you want it and cut a slit big enough for the plug to go thru and you have it. Now its real easy to change paks. Before I had to move towels, unbrella (threw that away, hasn't rained here in 2 months), maps koozies and all other kind of junk, just to get the door open. This is much better. I have been told that these 6 pak units are manufactured for ford by Clarion??? and if so, should be available at Best Buy. If this is correct, the average price, for cartridges there is 2/$30-35. I will check it out Monday and see if that is so.

Thats a great idea.

I think my first mod will be to move that CD changer. It is such a pain in the neck where it is located from the factory!
