Thanks for your replies to my posts. I am still a newbie here and trying to get up to speed. I have checked the FAQ and I still have a couple more questions. I will go with the R9 Superchip, the Airaid with the S+B filter. Now my question is on the Flowmasters you recommended. You used 2 but were they 2.5 diameter, 3.0 diameter or what? What else had to be modified? Pipes from cats and what about the tailpipes? Did you utilize the factory tips? How loud are they and what part number do you recommend? I will try to order these from mail-order like Jeg's if you happen to know the part number. I don't want it very loud so the straight pipes are a NO-GO. Thanks dude!

Ryan,

Exhaust is my next mod as I have not yet done it. Hint: When I find a thread I like with tips (part #'s, install pics, alignment specs, et al, I copy/paste/save them just to be sure. I trust Steve (webmaster) but I like to have an archive too.

Forgive me for not giving credit where credit is due on this.

With the 2 chamber 40 series (the loudest) you'll need (1)#42541 [2.5" offset inlet, 2.5" center outlet] and (1)#42540 [2.5" center inlet/2.5" center outlet]. The offset inlet goes on the passenger side with the offset up, the center inlet goes on the driver’s side. They had to pull the stock pipe on the passenger side from the exhaust manifold in a little (maybe a 1/2" or 1") to get the mufflers to sit side-by-side. When they put the mufflers on, they do appear low but compared to the axle (which has to clear) they will clear.

If you would like a pic of the install, drop me an email at speedinbob@home.com and I'll send it to you.

Speedy
