Keep Alive Memory

Ive been told that this can be done by unplugging the neg battery terminal and turning on the lights for about 30 minutes this does not seem to be working but when I take it to ford they say this is all they did to get it to run correctly do they dig deeper than this on the KAM or did they do something more???

So um, how do you plan on turning on the lights if the battery is unhooked?

some think it'll drain any remaining voltage from the ECU PCM or whatever else it's reffered as.

Turning on the lights discharges the capacitors which hold electricity which help to retain memory. Therefore turning the lights on, while they will not illuminate anything, will indeed drain all the electricity from the ECU...

The reason some say to turn the lights on for 10 minutes or more is because some capacitors take a long time to drain all their stored electrical energy…
