Question CD magazines?

A few months ago someone posted a link to a cheap source for magzines for our CD changers. I ordered some, but I need some more, and danged if I can find my invoice. I did a search but evidently the engine won't look back that far. Can anyone post that link again, por favor?

After checking the site, I ended up ordering a couple myself! Does anyone know if there are protective cases available for the cartridges? If not, what have you used to protect the spare cartridges containing CD's when not in use?

mwills, they don't come with protective cases. I have not tried to find any, they seem pretty rugged, no malfunctions so far, but I may put the unused ones in ziplocs to keep out dust. However, I don't want to rain on your parade, but the part number in the link, F87F-18C833-AA, is not the p/n they sent me for the Pioneer changer in the L. My p/n is F8VF-18C833-AE, and it works fine in my changer- but I have a 2000 L. I will give them a call tomorrow and order a couple.

a guy at work told me that Radio Shack has the cartridges for the Pioneer changers for $12.50. He's a stereo nut, but he's not an L owner, so I don't know if he's correct or not and I haven't had time to check it out...

Thumbs down

I normally do not patronize Radio Shack because they engage in deceptive business practices (matter of record with FTC) and their clerks mostly don't know s**t from shinola, but jfthoi I called two of the local outlets. A clerk at #1 told me that they only carried Optimus magazines. Clerk at #2 said they carried one magazine, generic, fits most changers (b.s.). Went to R.S. web site, browsed their catalog, could not find any magazines listed. Think I will stick with Radios and More, they seem to know what they are doing.

OK, after posting the above, I got through to Radios and More and verified that the correct p/n for the 2K L. is indeed F8V-18C833-AE. Their price is $32 but drops to $25 if you order two or more. $5 next day air. So I ordered two more, expect to get them tomorrow.

I picked up some spares for my '99 and they are made by Clarion. Does this mean they get changed every year. If so that means I'll need to get new ones for the '01 when it comes in.

Toadster,

Just checked the CD changer in my 2000 L (manufactured in May) and it is definetly a Clarion unit so it appears that there may be a mixture of brands installed at the factory.
