Removal Of Lightning Abs Module?????

HI!... I know some of you LIGHTNING guys have removed the ABS module and entire ABS systems from your trucks, mostly for dragtrucks. I want to do this for my F-150 drag truck and an wondering what is involved in dong this.

I know I will have to use a poportioning valve to correct the bias but what about tuning to keep any codes from coming up?

HI!... I have already done that but want to remove the system totally. My ABS module is faulty and my ABS only works 50% of the time and since the truck is going full drag, I don't need it. I know a few on here have done it and one even posted pics of the how to.

Relocated ABS module :

Mine has been gone for probably 4~5k miles now......

All I did was pull the ABS stuff out. Take the line going from the master cylinder going to the rear brake line and connect it. Then for the front I did the same, but used a "T" fitting to split it. Didn't use a proportioning valve when I did mine. Everything has work excellent. Brakes are good; better pedal feel not having that damn abs unit kick on. Just have a ABS light on the dash I have to get rid of somehow.

I had hell at the track when I was on different size tires and would hit a bump or something I wouldn't have any brakes. So I yanked it all. Drives great on the street too. An excellent mod for anyone who knows how to drive. ABS is for people who can't drive IMO.

HI!... Casey02L : Thanks for the info! What did you do about the huge plug going to the ABS module? Did you just tape it up or seal it with silicone? Then just tied it up out of the way? For the ABS light being on, you can probably have your tuner turn it off or just pull that bulb out on the gauge cluster. I will most likely need a proportioning valve due to I'll be running 16"x12" BOGARTS with HOOSIER 28"X14.50" on the back and 15"X4.5" BOGARTS with M/T 7.50's on the front.
