Question Switching the passenger side rear shock around?

I've been reading about people switching the passenger side rear shock around to face the same direction as the drivers side (to the rear). Is there a How-To out there that explains how this is done? Also, is there any driveability issues involved with doing this on a DD Lightning? I'm very interested in this because it makes sense and I'm trying to do everything I can to make my first attempt at the 10's a good one. Thanks...

I am considering this for handling reasons.....everything should be the same side to side for predictable handling.....the stagger is purley to combat wheel hop....

I'm planning on doing this also...I'm just gonna carefully cut off the old shock-mount and weld it back on facing the rear of the truck to match the driver's side mount. I don't need to worry about axle wrap or wheel hop because I have traction bars on it already. I'm also gonna put on a set of QA1's all around and possibly front drag-springs...I am chasing 10's now too.

Does anyone know the correct part #'s for front & rear QA1's???

Are you lowered in the front or the back?

Sorry for the slow reply...I just have 2" shackels in back and I plan to drop the front no more than 1" if/when I do the front drag-springs...the rear of my truck is a true 2" lower due to the added weight of my hard-tonnou cover.

I have my shocks done that way, no drivability issues here. The lower mount must be cut and welded back and the upper mount hole is already there.

Did you pull the axel when welding the bracket?

If he didn't, he should have. I made the mistake of having my anti-sway mounts welded to the axle. I am going to have to drop the axle to completely cut them off. It's stupidly tight to try to do it with the axle in place.

nope. Dont feel like it hurt anything. Runs great. I still have to put the Moser axles and detroit locker in though.

My chassis builder set it up this way. He said it would improve my launch and 60 ft times. I believe that this setup helps the suspension squat better and more evenly by putting shocks in same direction. Less wasted energy. Verses having 2 opposing shocks.
