Unhappy Please help me diagnose this funny noise!

My 2000 L with 66k miles is making a terrible noise and i'm not quite sure what's going on! It's an intermittant noise that can be heard from the KN filter. (sounds like WHOOOO). The noise is very loud and sounds horrible It comes and goes, but is driving me absolutely nuts! I disconnected the blower belt and the s/c pulley spins freely without grinding. When the noise happens it goes on for about 20-30 seconds and then doesn't come back for awhile. Also, it seems to happen mostly after intital start-up and letting off the throttle after hard acceleration.

Please help, i'm not sure what the hell is wrong with my truck! Thanks in advance for your replies
