I think I blew another coolant hose...

This will make #3 lol

Just got back from a 3-week trip in Japan, took the truck out for a spin and some errands, got on it on the highway to suddenly have a huge white cloud come rising up behind the cab. No loss of power, but I certainly lost all my antifreeze by the time I got it to my house... d'oh.

Off to the mechanics the beastie will go. I couldn't see where the actual fluid was coming from, seems to be one of the lines on the rear-left side of the engine, and without a lift, my 5" of ground clearance makes it tough to get under....

PAWN, could it be the plastic O-ring gasket that is in the quick connect on the heater line? Usualy to get a coolant cloud the coolant must get into the combustion chamber. I got one that was killen masquitos on both sides of the track when I lifted both heads!

God Bless,

Suavy

I was worried about that first, but when I was looking around the cloud came from the fact that wherever it spewed from it spewed right -onto- my exhaust...the cloud came from behind the cab and under the hood, not out the tailpipes. There's antifreeze all over the underside of the truck, I was cruising about 70 when it burst.

I blew a frost plug on my other Ford. It was a huge cloud of smoke as the coolant drained in about a minute. Pretty cool and just a minor occurrence.

maybe, it was the passenger rear side of the engine, so it was too hard to see.

I had the same hose blow off while I was on the dyno. Scared the ***** out of me and my tuner. It was because there a crappy Ford squeeze clamp on there. We put it back on with a gear-clamp and it hasn't moved since.

It was that lower rear hose...we're replacing them all just for good measure.
