Cal-Trac traction bar users

In the never ending quest to select the right traction bar, I have a question for cal-trac users as well as other TB options.

My setup in the rear is lowered with Hotchkis springs with stock shackles and hangers. I also have a Bassani catback. And if anyone doesn't know, this is the kiss of death combo when it comes to selecting traction bars. I know the 58" bars will hit and the 54" bars have clearance on some peoples trucks, but some have to modify the catback. I reeeaaally don't want to do rebend pipes. The CE slide-a-links won't work with hotchkis, the metco lowers hit the Bassani, the uppers I've heard hit the frame and I don't care for slappers.

This leaves me with the Cal-tracs. Can someone comment on the fit with a similar susp. and exhaust setup? Any modifications have to be done to anything (brackets, exhaust)

If you could post pics of the cal-tracs installed, that would be great! I'm open to any and all suggestions.

Thanks for your help guys.
Daniel

I had the caltraks and had to switch the long bars. If you dont plan on going faster then 12's you will be fine with them, if you want to go faster then
12's dont get them.

Caltracs

What was the problem with the Caltracs? I have a set I have yet to install so I'm interested to know what problems you had with them.

Does this same philosophy apply to slappers?

With the caltraks the rear end lifts on launch instead of squating. My truck would leap out of the hole and 2-3ft out it would start spinning the tires. With the long bars the truck squats and goes. I'm not saying they are all around bad but when I started running around 12.0 i couldnt get the truck to hook.
