L started on fire
Need to know if anyone has had problems with electrical system? My L was going in for service monday. Also need to know if anyone has had to alter the battery cable/starter wire down by the frame because on my L that is where the short was? I had JBA headers put on about 2 months ago and Ford said that was why , but why would the problem take 2 months and not immediately? Thanks Justin
Because guys who installed headers didn't pay proper attention to routing of starter cable and headers either gradually cooked insulation off of cable causing short or cable was loose and finally bumped against headers or something and caused short. I'd go back to the header installer and hand him the ford bill.

Because it's a Ford I put the fire out. However if it was a Dodge I would have just walked away and let it burn to the ground.

As far as the headers go I installed them myself and have been doing automotive for 8 years. I checked everything after the install and everything had clearance from the headers, so maybe from hitting a bump it make it loose. But I knew as soon as Ford saw aftermarket headers they were gonna blame it on them.
