Unhappy Sold the 99 lightning today

On a bum note... completed the sale of my 99 lightning today.. No more black beast for me. I got what I asked for it and with dads ford discount lets just say I didn't do bad .

On the positive side I'm first on the list for a 2001, which will have the new grill and rims on it. My dealer is trying to find out what colors will be available... I really really want something in Yellow.

Sad Day... but leading to a happy future..

Now back in the waiting line <sigh>

Brad

Just wondering, did you sell it outright or to a dealer? paper, auto trader....? I also need to sell mine, because of a 2001 on order. My dealer shows the same 4 colors as 2000 are available.
Thanks

Red face

I sold mine privately.. but I had a friend that wanted it, so it was real easy. However I was in a lease, so the dealer actaully had to buy my lease out then resell it to him for me, that way I could avoid the tax burden of having to buy it and resell it. (You pay taxes on a lease as you go, not up front like a buy, so I only paid taxes on the portion I used.)

Now Gregg, you aren't that far out of the loop, I'm gonna get a 2001. My logic is this: 2001 = New Rims, New Grill Design, Better brakes, the 14mm studs, and some more stock horses, an in-dash CD-Player plus who knows what else at this point. I sold it for a fair market value, you know what "A" plan price is, so lets just say with that I paid off already I did REALLY ok. I will get another, don't worry!!

The guy I sold it to made out really well also, he got a 99 lightning with 12k miles for a real good price, and I left the toys in it. It's a win win situation for everyone, and it was an extremely fair selling price.

Just think Gregg, you could probably sell your 2000 for a profit right now and get a 2001... not a bad deal at all.

Now the 2001 won't ever be a daily driver like the 99 was, I already had 12k miles and thats way to many. I want to put maybe 3k a year on one and keep it a really long time.
