Eibach Hangers Done!!!
Eibach Hangers Done!!!
I finally installed my Eibach hangers this week!!! Not too hard if you have access to a lift and some power tools. If any of you guys plan on installing hangers i found it easy to grind the rivet heads flush with the hanger, then pry the hanger off with a pry bar and a mallet(came off very easy), then grind the remaining rivets down til they are flush with the frame, then use an air chizzle to knock them out. I could only knock 2 of them out with a mallet and a punch, the air chizzle only took seconds to knock the rest out. New hangers bolted up just fine. We had to raise and lower the frame to get the spring up to the mounting hole then we pryed on the shackles a bit to get the bolt thru the spring and the hanger. The pinion angle shims were fairly easy to get on too with a second lift to help raise the leaf springs and the frame. I mounted the leaf springs to the bottom hole on the hanger and got about 2.5 inches of drop to level it out with the front. Looks good with the 20's now! All in all it took me and a friend about 2 hours.
2.5 hours? That's awesome. You fellas must have been getting after it! Be sure to install
a set of strange adjustables. There will be a night and day difference.
