Ford does nothing for me. i spit in their general direction, problem is their trucks hold up better than the other guys, so i buy them, lots of them.

 

I have no particular allegiance(current car is a '00 BMW 323Ci, previous was a '99 Camaro SS, & next year a '01 Lightning). Somewhat of a Mopar fan, but i'll buy anything that's worth it! There are a few Ford's I really like. The Mustang Cobra, The Lightning of course, I could see the usefulness of the Sport Trac. I almost bought a '99 Cobra instead of the Camaro I had, but the seats had no bolstering, and there was not enough leg room for taller drivers. I also liked the agressive styling of the SS more than the Cobra. The quality was crap on the SS, and I hear it's not much better on the 'Stang. My first car should have really turned me off of Ford's though. A '82 Escort. What a piece of crap. EVERYTHING broke @ around 40,000 miles!

I think am more of a Ford SVT Fan then actual Ford, i wouldnt buy anyother american car but a ford. Unless if it was a bmw or mercedes, porsche, anything european pretty much except Audi or VW, i wouldnt buy anything else.

 

Let's see - started out with a new 79 Honda Accord I drove for 9 years with a total maintenance cost (tires and oil changes included) of $2500! Got so freaked out by that experience that I went out and bought a 4 year old 84 Z-51 Corvette which was showroom perfect. Drove that for 4 years then got a car I've always wanted - 1955 Chevy BelAir with a 76 Vette motor 4 speed - beauty of a car. Next came a car I always wanted to fix up - same as the first new car I ever had when I was 18 - 1965 Comet Cyclone - hipo 289 4 speed - bright red with white buckets and console. Show-n-go. Took second place in the tuff modified custom class in the Astrodome (national show). Then it was a 77 Porsche that had all the updates available (through 89) and the guy I bought it from had $35K in it and I got it for $12K - great little car but WAAAAAY too expensive! You think an L is expensive??? Get a Porsche! First thing I thought I would add is big brakes and grabbed the catalog to find they START at $2500 and on up to over $5K. JUST FOR BRAKES!!! Sold both of those and got a NEW 99 Vette and the paint didn't match. GM bought it back and screwed me out of $1200 so I bought my L and a Mazda for my wife - both those vehicles for the same price as the Vette!! Took a pic of the two together and sent it to the C-5 group and the caption read "Here's a shot of my new Corvette!"
Took me a long time to "get happy" but now I'm in heaven with the L - GREAT TRUCK!!!

i've only had 4 ford vehicles since i've been driving and they have all been trucks. my dad has worked for ford's for 30 years and i just got in this year. i bought my 88' ranger ext cab 4x4 off of my dad in 93' traded it in for my 95' flareside 4x4, leased a blue 2000 mountaineer premier for my wife and turned around and bought my silver 00' L in june, so considering i still have 3 out of the four vehicles i would say that i'm loyal (expecially since ford motor company is what puts the food on the table) everytime you guys buy a ford-lincoln-mercury my profit share check will be that much nicer. BUY FORD FYI ALPHA DOGGY my shop builds all of the focus (FN) transmissions the ford vandyke plant that is here in michigan
