Post Some intresting Reading.

On Ford Transmissions: http://www.tccoa.com/articles/transmission/ http://www.tccoa.com/articles/transm...business.shtml
As the transmission discussed is much (read same family) like ours, it may help some understand the difference in shift kits and transmission control in chips.

Steve,
that article is severly outdated, does not apply to the truck model of the 4R70W transmission and the 4R70W is not the same family as the 4R100W, the only thing they have in common is the Ford emblem on the case. Certain models of 4R70 are built at Sharonville, where all 4R100's are built, but they are only the passenger car models.
The 4R70W models that go into F-150s are all built at Livonia, and no Lightning has ever had a 4R70.

Factory, I know, but I've read some Stupid discussions about transmission stuff, and Some here would benefit from the information discussed in the article.
Some of the basics discussed there would help some people.
