Okay guys, which chip does not produce the spikes? PSP or Inject tech? Not trying to start another war but I don't really feel comfortable about the spikes either, sort of like sending a big shock through the powertrain and drivetrain right?

No spike with my PSP chip. When I dyno'd it in the stock position also, there was no spike. I had one of the 4 positions on the PSP chip set to stock as a safegaurd. Stock and chipped was smooth through out the power band, spikeless.

Runs were done in D with OD off to make sure it didnt up shift.

Hey what about Spike! If you have either CUX1 or CUX2 and no chip you will see the spike. Look at you dyno plots, right about 5000 RPM give or take a couple of hundred. Now you may be lucky and your chip tuner may have found a way to address the issue. I don't know because I have not stayed current with the issue in the last month for me the issue has been resolved. Is it solved with other tuner I do not know but they should be able to tell you. If you chip is over several months old the spike issue will be there. Its no big deal it is just robbing you of some performance.
