Exclamation Avoid Lund Trident bug shield

Installed the Trident earlier today and then went for a test drive...noticed that at speeds over 60mph there's a whistling sound. Discovered that the 4 vent slots that are incoporated in to the underside of the shield caused the whistle. I taped up the slots and the whistling went away. Looks like I'll just return the Trident and get the less expensive Interceptor or Bugflector II

I never understood those ugly things???? Would someone please clue me in on why it is worth it to make your vehicle less attractive just so you can have one of these bug deflectors on your hood???? Is it a non California thing??? can't be.... I've seen em here to???

TIA Robert

I bought one thinking it would keep bugs off the windshield (duh). But it seems all it does is aim the sand, rocks, etc. at my windshield. Now 1 year later, Iam needing new glass because of all the pitting. So to answer your question, "I don't know"

Talking

Because I'm tired of Ford trucks with the leading edge of the hood pock marked with holes from rocks and faded from bug guts.
