2001 Lightning thoughts
I think everyone is in agreement that the new 2001 Lightning isn't perfect on looks.
I have to admit I dislike the rear tail lights, but everything else is cool with me. I like the wheels and new headlamps and I would be replacing the grill anyways so that is not a concern of mine.
I think everyone is overlooking the fact that it is coming with more horsepower, new intercooler (non-leaking hopefully) and 3.73 gears.
Tail lights and grills can be replaced and then you will have a sweet looking truck like the 99/00's.
Just stirring the pot a little to wake up the list some.

I think the 2001 will look alot better in person. Just like it was when the '99 mustangs came out. I didn't like them in the pics but when i saw one one the street they looked bad ***. Now my dad has a '99 saleen s/c S281 and its one of the best looking late model mustangs. In my opinion.

Ok,
I'll take a stance damn it.
Grill: Fine but not perfect
Rims: Tar and Feather the moron that designed those.
Headlights/Corners: Like them, Nice mix of amber stipe with the rest clear.
Horsepower: We'll see but sounds good so far.
Gears: Gotta like 3.73's. Sounds like a concession to me between the 3.55 and 4.10-ers.
Intercooler: Hope they fixed the problem (I've never had it...knock knock)
and Lastly, Tail-lights: (Donning Nomex)Although I don't personally care for the red globule on the lower portion, I like the clear tails. I have clear tail lights on my RED L and like them. I know, I know..There are those that prefer the All White/Silver/Black look. I dig and respect that but I'll be DAMNED if if I'm gonna have the wheels of my L painted Red and go the the ALL-RED. NO FRUCKING WAY. JMHO
It gets to a point in modifications (asthetic or otherwise) where personal opinions tend to differ. Some may not care for my mods (albeit few) and I may not care for theirs. I still respect an owner's choices, it's their hard earned Dinero.
The point is, I'm a happy L owner just as hopefully you all are.
