FIRST RUNS WITH A CHIP
Well I have about 9 months of running stock without a chip, no maf, and no air filter. I only have a K&N in the box , 104 (5 gal) and MT ET Street tires. All my runs have been at a 1/8 mile local track. The best I have ever run in April was an 8.95 with a 2.04 60' time. The chip that Andre lent me is an old Superchip with two programs street and track only.
I made three runs with the street program between 6:30 and 7:00. They were 8.97, 8.93, and 8.91, two new best times and a 2.06 60'. These are great for the time of day when I would usually be runing 9.15.
Disconnect battery and shift to track mode. Wow!!! 8.81, 8.81, 8.80, 8.79, 8.77, & 8.72 at 9:00 with a 60' time of 1.97 my first under 2.0. What can I say. This chip, not even current production is good for about .3 and if I had made a run late at around 11:00 I'll bet it would have been well down in the 8.60s. My problem was I red lited almost every time. I could not leave where I use to at the start of the third lite. The truck was just to quick out of the hole. I was launching about 1200 rpm. They had the Big Dog shootout going with several 5.0 cars so there was lots of VHT on the track and lots of traction. This is a very good example of what any good chip can do for these trucks in a test by itself. Now all I need is a PRO-M with filter and 4:10 gears. Please mail your checks to NOELVM to help out a poor, broke, but happy racer.

Your results of dropping 3 tenths in the 1/8th mile are very typical of thr original Superchips program for these vehicles, it's still one of the better programs around for reducing ET's. Most of those trucks running nothing more than the original Superchip and an opened air intake were running 13.2's easy, and some even quicker, it just depended on how strong each individual Lightning was stock.
Have fun!

Boy, you just gotta love it when a chip manufactors rep is allways on the ball with answers and opinions. I mean that in a good way. I wanted just to be different in my purchase of a performance chip. But Iam leaning to maybe purchasing one of Mike's, because I believe he HAS customer service as Job #1. (Sorry Ford)
Yea, but what is interesting is I was betting 1BADFRD when he had a Superchip and filter and I was stock. He didn't start beating me until he added 4:10 gears on top of that, but I freely admit I was highly impressed with the chip. The truck ran like it was eager at any speed, with great shifts and performance in all rpm ranges.
