Question Aftermarket Gauges

I've been reading all the bad news about our boost gauge accuracy, and I think I want to do something about mine. I don't imagine that anyone will make one that replaces the stock one, in the stock location, so I guess I need a pillar mounted one.

does anyone make pillar mounted gauges? Also, what is a good combination of gauges for a supercharged beast like ours?

Hey Lucky 99,
I have been waiting for autometer 2 make an A-pillar guage pod that will hold 3 guages. They currently make one that will hold only 2 guages which, FYI it is the same as the standard F150 guage pod. http://autometer.com for more info on thier equipment. I guess it is paintable to match any interior (what is it called Meduim Graphite?) well good luck, if in your exploits you find a A-pillar guage that will hold -3-, let me know!

Looks like they have a triple pillar guage pod, part #17303 with 2 1/16" gauges; but they don't seem to have a 2 1/16" boost gauge, just a 2 5/8". Hmm...

They make 3 different 2 1/16" vaccuum/boost guages. They read to 20 lb boost. Their boost guage reads to 30 lb with no vaccuum. A bit of a waste when we only make ~10 lb.

I just ordered the single pod # 15304 ($19.95) with the 4301 Ultra-Lite vaccuum/boost gauge ($42.95) from Summit Racing. The guage has a brushed alluminum bezel and a white face. If I paint the pod grey to match the rest of the piller then it should look great.

I'll post pictures when it's installed.

Steve Bopp, the part # you listed 17303, is for the earlier F150 92-97, not the newer ones. if you go to autometers site & look on the left hand side at the pods for the F150 trucks down lower you will see that the newer body styles are listed. Just didnt want anyone to order the wrong part #

I recently added the single 2 5/8 boost guage on my A-pillar, Wow...went with phantom guage, couldnt look more at home. Phantom guages seem to match up with the stock guages very well. The guage seems to be more accurate(not to mention easier to read).Good luck with yours.

Auto Meter does make a 2 1/16" boost/vaccuum gauge, # 5703, Phantom (white background) and is a 30/30 gauge, maby a waste but still a usable gauge.

Starting to look at additional gaughes. Does anyone know when the Autometer LUNAR Series is going to be released and if they will fit the pillar units.
