my truck only has a 4# pulley and plenum? Would it be too much fuel pump or would it just go back in the tank with no problems? Reason I ask is because I need to replace my fuel pumps since the pressure does not hold when the key is off (at all) so it takes a while for the truck to start up. Since I am going to drop the tank to fix this problem, I figured I might as well stick some larger pumps in there so long as it won't create a problem. Eventually I would like to be able to add the mods to require larger fuel pumps.

Any input would be appreciated. BTW, does anyone have the kit that LFP sells? It seems to be quite a bit cheaper than all the other guys. Thanks!

 

The larger pumps wouldnt hurt nothing. Your motor will only take in what it needs, excess will be returned.

I am doing the same thing, only because i am taking my bed off to do the suspension so i bought a 255 pump. PSP sold it to me and i am sure he would have advised against it if it would hurt performance, so i would say you are good. However you may have to change your tune, i am not sure on that part.

Just remember to keep at least a quarter tank of fuel in always to keep the pumps cool, other than that go at it.
