What do you know about updated programs for the lightning ECM. My Fuel pump went out and while they where changing it the Tech. said he put an updated program in my ECM. Not my chip won't let my truck start, it's interfering with the PATS.

Are you sure the chip is interfering? Have they tried it w/o the chip installed? The chip should not interfere w/ the Pats system. If they reprogramed the PCM, pats should still work. Now, if they replaced the pcm for some reason they have to reset all paramaters before the vehicle will start...no matter if there is a chip involved or not. I believe there is some info. not being said. If you need more info fell free e-mail me at STANG58@aol.com and I'll give you my number and we can discuss this on the phone.

I am guessing that you have a '99 L? If they updated your Computer, they probably updated it to a '00 (CUX2). Your CUX1 chip won't work with it.

That's if your's is a '99

Is there a FORD qualified service technician on the board. If so I have a question about the ECM programs and updated programs that the service tech. can install on the ECM.

Floyd91:

So the dealer didn't figure out that you had installed a chip (waxy stuff missing)... or they new and didn't care. A whole new ECU cant be cheap!

TIA
