Just curious to know if there are any cheap mods that make much of a difference in the performance. I would think that weight reduction would be beneficial, if there's any thing that can be done in practical terms.

I'm giving serious consideration to a purchase of an L in the future, but want to learn about them some, first. After racing an L in my Mustang at a dragstrip (I won, but was very impressed), I can't get them out of my head! I'll keep the 'Stang, but it would be very cool to replace my current '97 Ford F-150 4x4 with an L.

Bang for the buck would have to be a chip, about $300. It cut .5 off my 1/4 mile times and added 3mph.


Weight reducers would have to be the hitch and the spare tire. BoostingDave ran his without the hitch, spare tire, and hard tonneau cover and had the same 60' times as with them installed. With everything removed, he cut a couple of tenths off his et. Free and it works, worth about 200# with the hard tonneau cover.
