Thumbs up Warning! Warning!!

First time ever to play around with a Mustang GT today. Road and traffic conditions weren't the best, so we were basically playing cat and mouse on a single lane.

Anyway, we end up with the GT in front of me at a stoplight. Goes green,...... let's go buddy. Finally he finds first and lets her rip. I do the same and we both lay down a patch. He doesn't pull one inch from me. Suddenly he shifts to second, when Holy *****, if I don't just about drive over the guy. Same things happens in his second to third shift, only I'm ready for it.

Talk about a herky, jerky, bouncing around on the throttle, cursing, swearing way to show that your truck is able to eat him for lunch.

Moral of the story: "Be prepared to lift off the throttle if you're doing the red light dash behind a sticked vehicle!"

a "sticked" vehicle should be faster than an Auto.

Question

The logic of this exercise escapes me. Pretty hard to beat someone in a one lane ahead of you no matter how much faster you are unless you have wings on your L. (hmmmmm, maybe thats the point of wings, after all).

Thumbs down

I'm not trying to offend you, but that doesn't sound like a very smart thing to do. Unless you're side by side what is the point anyway. That dude could've been setting you up for a rear-ender insurance claim.
