Service Engine Line? Thermostat?

Alrighty...my "Service Engine Soon" light came on this morning (I'm at college right now and I left my programmer...so no way to read error codes). Just looking at the gauges...I think I see what the problem might be: my temp gauge wont rise more than about a quarter of the way up (barely going over the image on the guage).

I know my truck. It doesn't run that cool. Hell...I don't know any vehicle that runs that cool.

So, I think it's the thermostat...I ordered one from the Ford dealership down here and will replace it tomorrow. I mean...it was $13...so I figured I might as well try before driving over one hundred miles back home. The dealership wasn't one of the SVT ceritified, and the guy behind the counter said he'd never seen a Lightning before and didn't know Ford ever made one.

I'd rather push it back home before letting them even look at it from a distance.

What do you guys think? Could it be the thermostat? The truck runs fine though...(it isn't smoking yet lol)...is it safe to drive it a hundred miles?

Thanks guys!

Nope, I had to clear it with my programmer. But, the light hasn't come back on.
