Bad Studder And Putter Noise...

This mourning I start up the truck and all is good untill I put it into reverse. It idles fine in park but when I put it into reverse or drive every 5 seconds or so the engine will stutter. As I'm cruising everything seems relatively normal.

I was hoping it was a mourning thing and would go away but it didn't... Same thing continues to happened and won't stop in the afternoon. Since cruising was going fine I decided to give it a little boost and see how the engine reacts...up untill about 5psi-ish everything is fine but past that the engine starts rapidly puttering and sounds just like when you hit the rev-limiter (only it's happening WAY before my redline)...

I don't know what it is...everything is normal other than the studder and putter..no weird smoke, nothing noticable under the hood, not overheating.

I have a 6lb pulley, very very safe tune from PSP, and a 12'' filter all of which I've had for about a year now trouble free.

Thanks a lot. Jack.

Check your plugs. I bet you fried one.
Been there and done that with a "safe" tune as well.
It happens. Detonation can come on fast and gas varies so much.

How long has the fuel filter been in? If it's got 25k or so on it, it may be partially plugged . Be easier to change than plugs so you might change it first if it's been in a long time.

Fuel filter has been in for under 10k so i doubt its that.

I didn't want to hear it was a plug. Is there any way of telling which plug it is prior to pulling them all? When I heard a ticking noise from my engine and I knew a plug was about to blow I used a mechanics stephoscopic to find the one plug that was backing out. Hopefully that same method will work to find this plug??

How bad would it be to drive right now until I get it fixed if I stay totally out of the boost?
