351W question with pic, help please

I just picked up a 94 lightning motor and am curious about a possible oil runner in the lifter valley. Not really paying that close of attention in the past, has anyone seen this before??? Is it an oil runner for the distr. gear or something??

Thanks
Dave

If your talking about the oil return holes at the back of the block. They are for oil to return to the pan also add oil ont the lowere portion of the distributor. We used to open them up a bit and chamfer the edge to help the oil to return quicker. As small block fords pump the oil upstairs first than feed the lower half. Hope this long winded answer. Is what you were asking!! Artie
