Post Only in an L

My wife and I drove down to San Diego to see the zoo Wendesday and stayed over-night.

Thursday when I was cruising very slow but very c0cky through the streets when a sedan came up on my left very fast. Two guys, the front passenger and the rear passenger, hung out both windows and screamed, "can we take pictures"?

It took me by surprise. I nodded, Yes. Out came the cameras, many shots were taken of both the side and front of my truck.

Maybe I should not have been surprised. I was in an L.

My wife is constantly amazed at all the looks the L gets. She can't understand why we get more thumbs up with this truck than we did with our 98 Vette. Back then, there weren't many C5s on the road, yet we still get more attention in the bolt. Frankly, I don't get it either. To appreciate it because I know what it does and how it feels doing it is one thing. But most of these people have never had the opportunity to rejoice in the massive torque or the whine of the Eaton. Could it be that it just plain looks damn good? I am truly puzzled, but then I could care less what anybody thinks, as long as I'm in the driver's seat.

Doing laundry last night (I know) and this real estate agent comes out off his office to grab a smoke as I pull up.. Anyway, he walks up to me, and the first thing out of his mouth is, "I never liked trucks, BUT , what is it and where can I get one." I told him you had to order them in a year in advance and they only cost $20,000. Hey its my truck and I find laughs where ever I can. If I charged him a dollar a look, I would have an extra $100.00 in my pocket! HaHA

Very true-
I too am amazed how how many people stare and do double takes. It amazes me that non truck owners stare and it's even funnier that BMW and Benz and Porsche owners often look too. You just know they are not truck fans and yet they dig it.

And I totally understand. I never liked trucks. Never did a thing for me. Then I saw the L and it was love at first sight. I still can't get over how it looks. It's beautiful and always will be.

When my wife picked up the truck from the dealer, (Cam Bolts installed), she attempted to say that there were more people looking at her than ever before. She finally admitted that they really were not looking at her, but the bolt. Honesty hurts sometimes!

At first I felt really bad about this, but later came to realize that it wasn't my fault for driving the coolest looking truck on the road.

I know of at least 3 different accidents that have occured because other drivers were staring at the Black Beast instead of driving thier cars. I swear this is true, I have witnesses!

I was sitting at a light and up creaps this guy in the right lane just staring at my truck. All of a sudden his wife nails him in the right arm and he looks ahead and stops. If she hadn't hit him, he would have hit a stopped car in front of him. It happens all the time. People roll down their window to say, "Man, that's a really cool truck." I just smile.
