well i love ford but my wife loves f-bodys.she got a 1998 trans am 3 days ago.it has 6500 on it.like new.well i saw a 2000 ligh. going down the road,so i asked him if he wanted to race.he did so we went to a safe spot to do it.take off i was 2 to 3 feet in front all the way to 110 or so,then i see him pull a foot ahead stayed like that till 125.then i pulled i front.we talked after,he has a superchip,KaN,and headers.that truck was fast.i read that the LS1 runs a 13.4 from the lot.it is stock so that lighning is right their,and it is 4400 lbs.im at 3400 lbs.way a go ford.i have a powerdyne on my 97 4.6,but it is 5800 lbs so its not as fast as a lighning,i wish.i was just shocked by that race.ONE DAY I WILL HAVE A LIGHNING FOR ME,A WHITE ONE.

 

I'm a soon to be owner of a 99.5 Black Lightning, and once I test drove that truck, I had the biggest smile on my face, I literally couldn't sleep that night! I stayed up working on to see how I will pay for it once i sell my F-BODY!!! Hah, in my opinion, FINALLY FORD DID SOMETHING RIGHT!!!!

Hey, I raced a fee F-bods, a couple SSs (00, 97), a couple of WS6s (00, 98), a T/A here and there. I haven't lost to a Chevrolet. Only lost to the T/As, and they were modified.

A 98 Z28 was neck and neck to 100 after I got the jump. I think I led by 1" the whole way. Fun!

and you have only SEEN one race, wait until you are IN one & race it, then you have reoccuring nightmares until you get one. People have been known after just one night of sleep go out & buy a Lightning after haveing ridden in 1. There is some strange bug that bites you after having been & driven a "L"ightning, makes you buy it.
