Post regarding my new 4.10's

I have been babying the new gears for the last 400 miles, taking it easy, letting them break in before really trying them out. Also, still waiting for my chip to be returned with the new program for the 4.10's.

But, today, I did something stupid. I pulled out in front of a fast on coming car. I had to step on it from about 5 miles an hour.

Did not hear a thing BUT I sure smelled a lot of burnt rubber. Probably cost me $10.00 off of the rear tires. Can't wait until the chip gets back home.

I should have my gears by today; but, I'm going on vacation tomorrow and won't be able to install them 'till I get back. The guy that's doing my gears (supposed to be one of the best around)is more than ready to do them. I ordered the drop shackles; but, may not install them since my buddy bought another snowmobile that will have to go on the bed because we now have three sleds to transport and only a two place trailer. I don't think I should do the drop now. The sled weighs about 500 lbs. and the drop kit may in conjunction with a trailer reduce payload too much to work this way.
