OK Doug...
Since you were nice enough to get a home page started for me, I'll give you permission to let everyone know how the Denton thing turned out.
BUT, before you do, I'll say a few words.
As the winner of the first ever "Fastest Lightning in North Texas" competition at Ennis last April (thats what happens when only four guys show up and you have the only non-stock truck), it appears I am now trying to win the "Slowest Lightning in North Texas" award by allowing all of my former victims to show their little tailgate "illuminated oval ricer badges" to me as we cross the finish line.
Having said that, I wanted to let everyone know that Doug no longer has to cut a .300 light to beat me to the finish line. No runs for me better than 8.9. Doug had an 8.8 and the other two (Autothrottle and the other fellow I didn't get to meet) ran 8.7s. I also ran Alan (13*2ndR/T) in his 98 R/T and lost 2 out of three (the last run he beat me on the tree). Alan only ran three times that I saw and they were all against me. His best was 8.771, very respectable.
Nice to meet the R/T guys ( all of them were were what I like to refer to as a more mature crowd). I think they're crazier about their R/Ts than we are our trucks (is that possible?).
And now, Here's DOUGIE!

It is not near as funny since I dont call myself Go_Rila. Being a sensitive and discrimnating guy I chose not to use the Albino Gorilla picture, but now that you have the gloves are OFF !!!
Oh and see if you can find any interesting pictures of a Silver_2000_
!

Ya we had a good time last night.
Dennis,
How did you do in the brackets?
I ran twice:
1st: 60ft 2.079
1\8 8.750 @ 81.184
2nd: 60ft 2.088
1\8 8.729 @ 81.637
badredsvt is who I ran against he ran a 8.877 against me.That was a very close race. He might of done better later. Well that sucks about the R\T's.In my opinion the L's don't start to pick up speed until your a the 1\8 mile.
Tell them to go out to Ennis next weekend.
I'll have my M\T's on. Come on Moonshine lets go racing.
Well hope to see you guys out there next weekend. I had a lot of fun Doug,Dennis, and Richie(right?).

Doug -
That's supposed to me doing the Here's Johnny! routine. It's not as funny if I have to explain it. Anyway, I think I may be on to my problems from last night. I spent a full ten seconds or so in the box grinding the tires each time. Don't suppose I over heated things a bit do you. At least Ennis has a decent water pit. I'll have to try it next time just throwing the rocks off and see what happens.
BBQ -
A couple of variables. You know how masters start to look like their dogs after a while? Ever since I went to the GO_RILA handle, my technique has started to resemble my new name. (See above prerace routine). Not very good. The biggest factor is the learning curve. I give Doug credit for staying with it and improving on reaction times and 60' times. Secondly, I think this was his first outing with the PSP set-up. My *** is certainly no larger than Doug's, but I don't think any of us want to go there.
Autothrottle -
I got put out in the second round on a double breakout by a red Z28. We both lifted at the end and I ran a 8.90 to his 8.93. Would have made my only 8.8 of the night without the lift.
Can't wait for fall weather.

Remember what I said last night about talking Chess to a checkers crowd....? Guilty.... "Heres Dougie" Went over my head.
I have to admit that Lee and BBQ man couldnt have played into my hand better if I had coached them.....
I roasted the hell out of your tires trying to get a good hook up, perhaps we both coud have done better by building less heat during the burnout.....
It was my first time to the track with the PSP race program chip and filter.
Let me know when your tailgate comes back from the paint shop so I can help you remove the little tailgate "illuminated oval ricer badge"
It was fun last night especially since we had the redneck crowd to pick on. Kept us from being complete canibals... I am a bit upset that the shutdown area is so well paved now, could have thrown rocks at 7 of 8 competitors.....
Finally I want to be clear that I never denied that I am/have a big ***....

Go-rila, I think the picture is very good of you and I understood the Here's Johnny thing. I think it is about time to think of some hair coloring, maybe a hena to give you a more youthful look. You know , maybe a visit to the paint shop. Congrats to Doug for a job well done but let me warn you, The Go-rila will return!
