Exclamation ? about Racin' at Byron

Byron sounds really cool. I have never raced before except at a streetlight. I don't have any Mods YET. What do I need to know or do to race. What does everyone do with their tailgate? Leave it up, put it down, or take it off? I know you want to show up with only about a 1/4 tank of gas, but would 100 octane be worth the money. Also I only have about 1,400 miles is my L. broke in enough? It's all new to me. Any help would be appreciated. Can't Wait!

BlkSVt,
Bring your truck with a 1/4 tank and you'll be set. Forget about the higher octane stuff unless you have a chip to raise your timing.
104 is $4.00 a gallon over there I think. Having the tailgate up or down won't matter either except you will have more to clean if you leave it down. I will have a tire pressure gauge and ice to cool down the intake so feel free to use the stuff. Also don't worry about the low mileage, if you run it hard from the start it'll stay running hard. Later.

Question

RobG,

Is the 104 octane fuel leaded or unleaded? If it's unleaded, I will want to show up almost empty.

Thanks,
Jake...

Un-leaded, same stuff as WFC, their leaded race fuel is 116 octane I believe,

See ya there,
